It's been a long time

I haven't posted anything in a long time, again!  I don't think anyone is reading this anyway!

My return to running has been successful.  Since my last post (shortly after running the Santa Hustle Half Marathon), I have been consistently running.  I ran the Glass City Half Marathon (in the rain), and I did make my goal of running the Flying Pig Marathon (and had a PR).  I've been participating in a 5K here and there.

The  most important thing is that running is fun again.  I enjoy the races no matter how fast I run or if I place or not.  The most fun race this year has been the zombie infested Run for Your Lives race.  A friend also participated in the race (he survived, I was infected), and my husband and daughter were zombies.    I ended up bloodied and bruised, and had the time of my life!  We plan to do it all again next year.

I have a few more 5K's, half marathons, and full marathons planned.  My most ambitious race planned is the Dopey Marathon in January -- a 5K, 10K, 1/2, and Full Marathon -- 48.6 miles in 4 days!

Gotta Run - and my new motto is No Excuses!

So it continues

This is just a quick post.  I have continued my running. I even ran a half marathon a week ago :)

Running again

It has been awhile since I made the post about being back to running again.  Well, I've done it.  I have learned to deal with the knee pain and trudge on.

I've run several 5K's since my last posting.  I am almost finished with my "6 in 6 weeks" goal.  Each time I run at a better pace (I'm really only competing with myself).  Since some of them have a small field of participants, I have placed first or second in several.

It's a good feeling to be out running again.  I plan to run the Turkey Trot for the first time in years. And, for the first time ever, I am running in a Santa 5K.  It looks like it is so much fun!  I may train for a marathon (Cincinnati flying pig?).

I'll try to post more frequently. For now . . .

gotta run!

I'm back . . .

I've started slowly running again. I am doing a walk/run program that, so far, seems to be working. I hope to post more later ;)

It's been a long time

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted. Needless to say, my last try at running again didn't turn out. In the last year I've been through surgery (it turns out I have "bone on bone" in my knee), two different types of injections, etc. and nothing has helped.

I won't let that deter me, though. I am going to try again. Hopefully I will be posting more soon!

New Beginning

I am going to start running again. For the next month or so, I will work on getting stronger by doing my Pilates workouts and working out some at the YMCA (as my schedule permits, with working two jobs). Once the weather is a bit nicer (so I don't fall and injure myself yet again) I am going to SLOWLY start running outside. Ares needs the workout too!

And, if my knee starts bothering me again, I will get over my stubbornness and go to the doctor.

I haven't run since last Spring; I just miss running too much to not go back to it!

As soon as I do my first outside run, I will post it in my blog.

Still not running

I'm still on my self-imposed break from running. My plan is to try again in March or so, when the snow clears. In the meantime, we have a Y membership; I just have to find time to get there :)
